Description

Blanking plug inserted in place of the filter wheel in the so-called "trino dome" [[ LINK ]]).

Such a photo trino head can be used, for example, in microscopes from Carl Zeiss Jena of the Mikroval series:
- Eduval
- Laboval
- Ergaval
- Amplival (entire series including Epival, Vertival, Amplival-Pol)
- Fluoval
- Metaval
- Telaval
- even Epignost

In microscope models with fluorescence illumination (e.g. Laboval Fluoreszenz or Fluoval), a filter wheel is installed in this head. When the manufacturer installed this head in other microscope models - a blanking plug was placed instead of the filter wheel - and this is exactly the element shown here.

Over the years, this element is very often lost and on the secondary market there are many such photo trino adapters without the blanking plug. The lack of this blanking plug can cause even large contaminants to enter the optics.
