Description

Blanking plug that is screwed in instead of the reflected light illuminator in the stand (in its vertical section) of Carl Zeiss Jena Amplival microscopes and related models.

This element is used when the microscope does not have an EPI illuminator (reflected light illuminator). In such a case, so that there is no open hole and no contamination can enter the inside of the microscope, this opening can be closed with this blanking plug.
When can such a situation occur that the microscope does not have a reflected light illuminator? Most often when the microscope is intended exclusively for transmitted light work and simply does not have any EPI illuminator.

It should be noted that it is not possible to mount this blanking plug in the Carl Zeiss Jena Ergaval microscope - this model is simply a lower model than the Amplival and does not have the option of connecting an EPI illuminator.
