Leica CLS 100 LED cold light source microscope illuminator

Leica CLS 100 LED illuminator (light source) used for illuminating biological microscopes and, primarily, stereoscopic microscopes.

- LED lamp installed inside

Important for certain applications, this illuminator features passive cooling, meaning a heat sink instead of a fan. As a result, there are no vibrations that are often transferred to the workbench and then to the microscope specimen. This is particularly important when observing in-vivo specimens where the medium is a droplet of water. In such cases, vibrations generated by a fan can cause movement of objects (for example microorganisms) within the water droplet, resulting in a blurred image.
