Sheet metal base cover for the Olympus CHK microscope. The retaining screw for mounting this cover to the microscope base is also included.

This cover performs several functions:

  • it protects the electrical components built into the microscope base
  • it protects the bulb located inside the microscope base
  • it acts as a heat sink, dissipating the heat generated by the bulb
