More about part: Zeiss Axiolab microscope RMS objective revolving nosepiece | 450905 turret 5-position (ID: 99934)
Main Photo
Description
Zeiss Axiolab microscope RMS objective revolving nosepiece | 450905 turret 5-position5-position nosepiece with RMS thread for the Carl Zeiss Axiolab microscope.
This particular nosepiece was removed from a Zeiss Axiolab re, P/N 45 09 05 (also written: 450905). It also fits the following variants:
- Zeiss Axiolab drb KT, which carries the same number 45 09 05 (450905)
- Zeiss Axiolab E re, 45 09 07 (450907)
- Zeiss Axiolab A, (reflected light), 45 09 09 (450909)
The Zeiss Axiolab Pol (P/N 45 09 10) comes from the factory with a pol nosepiece, meaning each objective position can be centred. Mechanically, the nosepiece offered here can be fitted to a Zeiss Axiolab Pol - but centring the objectives will not be possible. It is still a workable stopgap if an Axiolab Pol urgently needs to run again, especially when no pol objectives are going to be used.
Please note: the visually very (!) similar microscopes:
- Zeiss Standard 20
- Zeiss Standard 25 ICS
- Zeiss Axiostar
have DIFFERENT (!) nosepieces, and the one from the Zeiss Axiolab will NOT (!) fit them.
This nosepiece is fastened to the microscope arm with three screws (they are included in the set offered here), it is screwed onto the microscope arm from above, and the screws sit in the recess of the head mount.
The housing that forms one unit with this nosepiece has two slots for sliders. Two empty plastic sliders are included and can be seen in the gallery photos.
Several different names are in use for this part. They all mean the same thing, among them:
- revolving nosepiece
- objective turret
- objective nosepiece
- nosepiece turret
- objective changer
In the last gallery photo you will see a Zeiss Axiolab re with an arrow marking which part is meant and where it sits on the microscope. That makes it unambiguous to identify.
