Objective nosepiece mounting holder (with male dovetail) - a component of the intermediate tube of Carl Zeiss Universal and Photomicroscope microscopes.

In Zeiss Universal / Zeiss Photomicroscope class microscopes, the intermediate tube ([[ LINK ]]) contains a mounting part onto which the nosepiece is slid. This nosepiece holder is identical in intermediate tubes without a magnification changer and in those with an Optovar.

This is exactly the part offered here - the holder used to attach the nosepiece to the intermediate tube.

This nosepiece holder includes:
- a male dovetail for mounting the nosepiece
- a clamping screw that locks the nosepiece in place once fitted
- an empty slot for an optional narrow slider
- two blanking covers for this slot
- an empty slot for a wide filter slider

This is a service part for those who need to replace this component in their microscope. It is neither a complete nosepiece nor a complete intermediate tube.

Over the years, the Carl Zeiss Photomicroscope series microscopes have acquired various names that users commonly call them by. These include, among others:
- Zeiss Photomikroskop
- PM, e.g. Zeiss PM II or Zeiss PM III
- Zeiss Phomi, e.g. Zeiss Phomi II
It is also worth mentioning that Zeiss Photomicroscope microscopes were also sold under the Opton brand.
