Description
Zeiss Photomicroscope / Universal microscope push-pull rod with ball knob for intermediate photo tubePush-pull rod with knob for switching the light path in the photo intermediate tube for Zeiss microscopes.
This component fits the following microscopes:
- Zeiss Universal
- Zeiss Photomicroscope I
- Zeiss Photomicroscope II
- Zeiss Photomicroscope III RS
- Zeiss Ultraphot
The module consists of the following elements:
- a metal push-pull rod with position markings (white, red and black stripes, as well as a blank/silver marking)
- a round knob screwed onto the end of this rod
- a mounting for attaching the rod to the prism housing
- a cover protecting and covering the internal mechanism
This component is susceptible to various types of damage, including:
- because the rod is quite long when pulled out (approx. 7 cm), it can easily become bent, especially during transport of the microscope. A bent rod can no longer smoothly switch the prisms in the optical path of the intermediate tube
- the Bakelite knob screwed onto this rod can easily chip or become unscrewed and lost
- any of these elements, including the protective cover, can be lost during microscope servicing
The last photo shows the complete intermediate tube, with an arrow indicating which element this is and where it is located. This allows for unambiguous identification of the service component presented here.
