Main Photo
Description
Zeiss Standard WL / 14 microscope plunger pin from head holder spring-loaded screwThe inner plunger pin from the spring-loaded screw used to attach the microscope head (e.g. a binocular or trinocular head) to the stand of Carl Zeiss Standard series microscopes.
This particular plunger pin was part of a screw removed from a Zeiss Standard WL microscope, but it will most likely fit most models of the Standard series, for example:
- Zeiss Standard 14 / 16 / 18
- Zeiss Standard WL / WL 89
- Zeiss Standard GFL
- Zeiss Standard Universal
- Zeiss Standard Photomicroscope
- Zeiss Ultraphot
Here you can see a complete screw of this type: [[ LINK ]] – this is the type of screw that contains this pin inside. In the last photos in the gallery, you can also see the complete arm of a Carl Zeiss Standard WL microscope, with an arrow indicating which element this is and where it is located in the microscope.
Note – over the years, Zeiss microscopes (or the same microscopes sold under the names Zeiss-Winkel or under the Opton brand), especially simpler models such as the Zeiss Standard Junior, may have used different screws for attaching microscope heads. They were not necessarily spring-loaded screws – sometimes ordinary threaded clamping screws were used.
Before deciding to repair the screw in your microscope, it is best to carefully compare its appearance and dimensions with the photos in the gallery or ask a question on the forum [[ LINK ]]
