This is the so-called "black series" of objectives, named after the black plastic housing of the objective. They were used mainly in Leitz Wetzlar HM-LUX-3 microscopes (and in the model signed Leica HM-LUX 3). This was the period when manufacturers were experimenting with a new look for microscope parts, and exactly the same kind of "black series" could also be found in Will Wetzlar V300 / V355 / V365 or Nikon Alphaphot YS2 microscopes.
From 1990 onwards, the logo (and the name) "Leica" began to appear on microscopes that had until then been signed "Leitz". This was also visible on the HM-LUX 3 microscope - and this microscope can be found both with the "Leitz" logo and with "Leica". The same 10x objective that I present here with the name "Leitz Wetzlar" and manufacturer number 519754 also exists with the "Leica" marking - and NOTE - it carries exactly the same number, that is "519754".
This objective fits practically any microscope from any manufacturer, provided it has an RMS thread and accepts objectives with a tube length of 160 mm and a parfocal length of 33 / 37 or 45 mm. A few such microscopes are listed as examples in the "compatibility" section, but this is not a complete list.
