This is description of this part:
Apochromatic RMS microscope objective with 60x magnification, very high numerical aperture, designed for use without a cover slip, with water immersion and improved correction for fluorescence illumination.
Manufacturer: Lomo
Model: APO-WI 60x1.0 D=0 L
Magnification: 60x
Numerical aperture: 1.0
Correction: Apochromat + fluorescence
Tube length: 160 mm (?)
Focal length: 33 mm (?)
Immersion: water
Cover slip: no (!)
Marking: "L" = luminescence
Marking: "D=0" = use without cover slip
Thread: RMS
Year of manufacture: 1975
Apochromatic objectives are known for exceptional color fidelity, significantly better than achromatic objectives.
This objective is extremely rare on the secondary market and highly professional. Key features:
- Water immersion is preferred by many users over oil immersion
- Very high numerical aperture (1.0) provides high-resolution images
- Use without cover slip allows, for example, direct placement of the objective inside a droplet with the sample to be observed
Despite the "L" marking, the objective can also be used with normal transmitted light illumination.
Lomo objectives marked "L" (luminescence) differ from those without this symbol by:
- Improved UV and blue light transmission
- Lower autofluorescence of the glass
- No or reduced use of organic adhesives in the optical assembly
What is this part needed for?
- If you need an apochromatic objective to obtain an image with better color
- If you want to upgrade your Lomo microscope with original parts
- If you need a 60x water immersion objective for Lomo, Carl Zeiss Jena, PZO, IOR or other microscopes requiring 33 mm and 160 mm objectives
- If you need an objective to work without a cover slip but with water immersion (e.g. to observe inside a drop of water)
- If you have a Lomo microscope from 1975 (serial number starts with "75") and want period-correct objectives
- If you do not like oil immersion but want better image quality than standard 60x dry objectives
