Carl Zeiss Jena CF-250 Fototubus - Jenamed / Jenaval microscope top, main part of trinocular head case
|
|
Description of this part for the microscope.
Upper main part of the housing of the photographic head (the so-called "trino dome"). This housing has no bottom (lower part). Metal, cast or injection-
...
molded parts of Carl Zeiss Jena carry their own numbers. This microscope element bears the number 2580 (full designation: Si10 CZ 2580).
This is a service element (replacement part) for the trino head (head with photo output), suitable for Carl Zeiss Jena CF-250 microscopes. Please note that this is a microscope element for a microscope part (the trinocular head) and not a part for a specific microscope model.
Carl Zeiss Jena CF-250 microscopes have a modular design, and the microscope part to which the eyepieces are mounted (commonly referred to as the "head", "binocular" or "binocular tube") is a separate element from the angled tube (sometimes the German term "Winkeltubus" is used). If the angled tube has a photographic output, it is referred to as a "Fototubus". It is precisely for this microscope part that the upper main part of the housing is offered and described here.
Note - although the Carl Zeiss Jena Jenapol and Jenatech microscopes also belong to the CF-250 series, they have a differently constructed photographic output and this housing DOES NOT FIT them.
The exact dimensions of the described and offered microscope element can be seen in the gallery photos. Additionally, in the last photo an arrow indicates which element is being referred to and where it is located in the head, in order to clearly identify this part.
Many different names are commonly used for the trino head. It is worth listing them here - each of them refers to the same microscope part. - photo head - trino head - trinocular head - trinocular head unit - photo dome - photo tube - inclined tube with photo output

Carl Zeiss Jena CF-250 Fototubus - Jenamed / Jenaval microscope Bertrand lens | internal mechanism with knob
|
|
Description of this part for the microscope.
Complete mechanism for operating the Bertrand lens. The lens is located inside the photo tube of Carl Zeiss Jena microscopes of the CF-250 series.
-
...
assembly of two lenses - knob for moving and shifting the lenses - mechanism for moving and shifting the lenses
Metal, cast or injection-molded parts manufactured by Carl Zeiss Jena have their own identification numbers. In this mechanism the lens is mounted on a cast part marked with number 2582 (full marking: Si10 CZ 2582).
This is a service element (repair part) of the trinocular head (photo tube), suitable for Carl Zeiss Jena microscopes of the CF-250 series. Please note that this is an element (component) of a microscope part (German: "Fototubus") and not a part dedicated to a specific microscope model.
Carl Zeiss Jena microscopes of the CF-250 series have a modular design and the microscope part to which the eyepieces are mounted (commonly referred to as "head", "binocular" or "twin tube") is a separate element from the angle tube (sometimes the German term "Winkeltubus" is used). If the angle tube has a photographic output, it is referred to as a "photo tube". The Bertrand lens offered and described here is intended specifically for this microscope part.
Hinweis - Carl Zeiss Jena microscopes Jenapol and Jenatech, although they also belong to the CF-250 series, have a differently designed photographic output and this mechanism DOES NOT FIT these models.
Hinweis - Carl Zeiss Jena also produced a simplified version of the photo tube which does not contain a Bertrand lens inside. In the image gallery there is also a page from the manufacturer's catalog so that it is visible whether these versions differ externally in appearance. This Bertrand lens shown and offered here CANNOT be installed in such a simplified version of the photo tube.
The photos visible in the gallery show the exact dimensions of the element described and offered here. Additionally, in the last photo an arrow indicates which element is concerned and where it is located in the head, in order to clearly identify this part.
In common usage many names are used for the photo tube. It is worth listing them here - each of them refers to the same microscope part. - photo head - trinocular head - trinocular microscope head - trinocular head assembly - photo dome - inclined tube with photo output

Lomo Polam polarizing microscope camera photo tube for trinocular head | Carl Zeiss Jena compatible
|
|
Description of this part for the microscope.
Photo tube / camera adapter for the Lomo TRN-1 trinocular head used in Lomo Polam microscopes - but also compatible with many other microscopes manufactured by Lomo,
...
Carl Zeiss Jena, PZO, Meopta, Olympus, IOR and others.
This tube makes it possible to connect a camera or photographic camera to a trinocular head or directly to the microscope body, even when no trinocular head is installed.
Originally, this adapter was designed for the Lomo TRN-1 trinocular head. This head was used in Lomo Polam polarizing microscopes from the early 1970s onwards.
Several remarks regarding the model designation of the trinocular head for which this component was originally intended: - the name Lomo TRN-1 is the Latin alphabet designation. In Cyrillic script the model designation appears as TPH (for example model TPH1Y4.2), and this designation is used in the manual for the Lomo Polam L-211 microscope - the vast majority of these trinocular heads are not marked with any model designation - the Envirotools website http://www.envirotools.hu/ateso_fenyu_polarizacios_mikroszkop.htm refers to this trinocular head as HU-POL
In the last photograph, an arrow indicates exactly which component is being offered and where it is located in the Lomo Polam microscope, allowing this part to be identified unambiguously.
Basic technical parameters of this tube: Mounting method to the trinocular head or microscope: 41 mm dovetail mount (this is also the Carl Zeiss Jena standard) Camera mounting method: male M39 thread Alternative camera mounting method: since the M39 thread can be removed, a plain smooth tube with a diameter of 35 mm remains Additional optics: yes, the original optics are installed inside, although they can be removed, leaving only an "empty tube".
This is not "a tube dedicated to a specific microscope model". It is a tube originally mounted on the third port (photo port) of a trinocular head. Since a trinocular head can be installed on microscopes other than the model with which it was originally supplied, this tube can be regarded as a universal accessory.
These technical parameters make it possible to use this tube with virtually any microscope manufactured by: - Lomo (for example Biolam, Polam, MBB-1A and others) - Carl Zeiss Jena (for example Ergaval, Amplival, Jenamed and others) - IOR, Meopta and other manufacturers using a 41 / 41.5 mm dovetail mount
In addition, a 41 mm dovetail tube can easily be mounted on microscopes equipped with a 42 mm or 43 mm opening, for example: - Olympus (for example CH, CH-2, BH-2 models) - PZO (for example Biolar, Studar, MB-30 and others)
The entire list of microscope manufacturers and models given above may also be treated as a list of microscopes compatible with the Lomo TRN-1 trinocular head. Indeed, many examples can be found on the Internet showing this head being used with microscopes made by manufacturers other than Lomo.
Because this tube is equipped with an M39 thread by default, almost any camera or photographic camera can be attached by means of a suitable adapter, for example: - devices with M42 threads - devices with C-mount threads - Nikon, Sony, Olympus and other camera standards
This is therefore a universal photo tube featuring a 41 mm dovetail on one side and either an M39 thread or a 35 mm tube on the other side.
In the image gallery, every photograph includes a millimetre scale, and in addition, the dimensions of the dovetail, tube and thread have been measured with calipers so that compatibility can be determined precisely.
