Description
Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 stereo microscope main objectiveMain interchangeable achromatic objective for the Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 stereomicroscope.
Important: this objective does NOT FIT Technival microscopes, even though they are similar models. Carl Zeiss Jena Technival and Technival-2 microscopes use stepwise magnification switching (built-in magnification turret), while Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval and Citoval-2 microscopes feature continuously variable magnification (so-called zoom) - therefore the objectives are not interchangeable between these models.
This particular achromatic objective shown and offered here was removed from a Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 microscope. Unfortunately, I am not certain whether it also fits the Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval microscope (without the "2").
For this microscope element in the Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 microscope, the manufacturer uses several different names:
- Main objective (German: Hauptobjektiv)
- Objective (German: Objektiv)
- Front objective (German: Frontobjektiv)
This is the main objective of the microscope, to which an auxiliary objective (German: Vorsatzobjektiv, Vorsatzlinse, Vorsatzsystem) may optionally be attached, although this is not required.
The Carl Zeiss Jena Technival and Citoval microscopes (older version without the number "2") are grey, while the Technival-2 and Citoval-2 models are white. This objective is white and is therefore intended for the newer Carl Zeiss Jena Citoval-2 and Technival-2 stereo microscopes.
