In the last photo, the stage to which this clamp fits is shown. Additionally, an arrow indicates where this element is located, so it is clear which part of the microscope stage is being referred to.

Inside there is a classic mirror reflecting light and a matte mirror diffusing light. Both are in very good condition.

Note - this base does not fit the first models of Carl Zeiss Jena Technival and Citoval stereomicroscopes, as they have a smaller stand foot.

The illumination block in the Carl Zeiss Jena Fluoval-2 fluorescence microscope is modular, and each of its elements can be easily detached and attached. This microscope element is mounted to the whole module using screws and the key /part/00588.

From the 1930s to approximately the mid-1960s many German manufacturers produced microscopes with the same stage mounting standard, so this stage will also fit them.

How does compatibility of stages between Carl Zeiss Jena and Lomo microscopes work?
- Carl Zeiss Jena stages for L-Stativ microscopes have a mounting diameter of 71 mm
- Lomo stages for MBR-3 / MBI-1 microscopes have a mounting diameter of 73 mm
- The spring-loaded front screw and long side centering screws in the mounting holder compensate for these differences
- Carl Zeiss Jena stages are more solid, heavier, made of brass
- Lomo stages are lighter, made of aluminium with plastic elements

Note that although this is a round and rotating stage, it is not a polarizing stage. It does not have a micrometer scale to read how many degrees (0-360) the rotation has occurred. Without this scale it can of course be used for amateur observations in polarized light, however for professional applications this is disqualifying.

To use this prism in the trinocular head 11505146, it must be removed (prism only) and re-glued into a new position.

Note: another INCORRECT piece of information often found online is that these are DIC objectives. This is not true.
